The Department of Marketing within the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa invites  applications for one non-tenure Instructional Track Faculty Position in Marketing at the levels of  Assistant Professor of Instruction or Practice, Associate Professor of Instruction or Practice, or Full  Professor of Instruction or Practice starting Fall 2025. Rank will be based on experience and record of  achievement. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. Position is 100% time (teaching 6-7 classes/year) and includes a 1-7 year contract, determined by rank and experience, with benefits. For  more information about the Instructional Faculty policy, refer to the Policy Manual 10.9.3. 

This person will also serve as the director of the newly created Sales and Customer Development  Collaborative (SCDC). Depending on the workload of the administrative position, compensation will be  provided in terms of course releases and/or an administrative stipend. 

Responsibilities of the director include: 

• Serving as the chief student development and engagement officer for the Collaborative; • Serving as the chief industry liaison for the Collaborative; 
• Serving as the chief fundraiser for the Collaborative; 
• Maintaining close supervision and control over the Collaborative’s budget; 
• Overseeing internships and placement for students in the Collaborative; 
• Overseeing Collaborative events, such as sales competitions, job fairs, and seminars; • Travel to collegiate sales competitions and other Collaborative functions as needed; • Overseeing Collaborative’s marketing communications, including the Collaborative website and  newsletter; and 
• Identifying corporate training opportunities and activities.

Education Requirement  
An MBA or master’s degree in a related field. 

Required Qualifications  
• Evidence of successful teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level in any area of  marketing and/or sales, OR A demonstrated high level of teaching competence through corporate  sales training. 
• Strong background in professional sales or sales management with industry experience (5-10 years)  • Experience in teaching sales management and/or advanced sales (CRM & analytics) courses • Experience supervising internships or clinical field experiences 
• Evidence of involvement in professional organizations 

Desired Qualifications  

• An earned doctorate in a related field 
• Experience leading a university sales program 
• Experience in alumni and corporate engagement 
• Experience in fundraising activities.
